The Truth. The Whole Truth. Nothing But the Truth.

The Holy Bible Has Truth Without Any Mixture of Error for Its Matter.

For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Matthew 5:18

Since all scripture is inspired by God and God cannot lie, then it naturally follows that all scripture is truth. Truth is that what matches up with actual reality, as opposed to somebody’s perception of reality. For example, if someone believed that they could catch the flu by wearing mix-matched socks, then that would be his or her perception of reality. However, we know that it is not actual reality. Therefore, what is real is true, and what is unreal is false.

The Bible makes some very distinctive truth claims. The Bible tells us, for instance, that God exists. In the Bible, Jesus lets us know that He is God in the flesh and that the only way for human beings to be saved from the consequences of sin is through Him (John 14:6). Moreover, the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus are essential to Christian theology. These claims the Bible makes either correspond to reality or they do not. We believe that they absolutely do correspond to reality, meaning that the Bible is true. God really does exists. Jesus is not a myth and He is the only way to eternal life. And the resurrection really happened.

But how do we know this? We accept these things by faith. Faith is very important in the life of a Christian for without faith, it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 6:11). And although we accept these things by faith, God does not leave us without clues. One great clue is the consistency of the Bible. Some unbelievers say that the Bible contradicts itself. However, in the course of this journey you will see for yourself that it clearly does not contradict itself. Another great clue is its demonstrated ability to foretell those things that have yet to happen. But the most telling and personal clue is the feeling of peace that it gives you. It is a living Bible that connects with the Spirit within you and becomes the basis of inexpressible and glorious joy (1 Peter 1:8) and a peace that passeth all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
